Many teen mothers do not have the financial resources to pursue higher education. With our annual Close to Our Hearts Foundation Scholarship we work to remove this barrier and allow these exceptional young mothers to access life-changing opportunities for themselves and their children.

Limited transportation hinders young mothers' ability to provide for their children and access essential services. Close to Our Hearts sponsors a driver's education course at Longfellow High School, fostering independence and well-being, and paving a positive trajectory for their future.

Securing safe and stable housing is often a significant challenge for young mothers. Close to Our Hearts offers housing assistance to support a secure and nurturing home environment. We have provided assistance with the security deposit and first month’s rent for teen mothers demonstrating significant need.

Financial stability is a key milestone for a teen mother in their transition to adulthood. With our Close to Our Hearts Financial Education Event, we work to meet the young mothers where they are at and empower them with the best education on saving, spending, and documenting finances.

As teen mothers navigate the challenges of parenting, having convenient and nutritious snacks can ease some of the daily pressures they face and help their general well being. We have partnered with Holy Trinity Church and Longfellow High School to help provide snacks for teen mothers and their children.
